Clique Photographer of the Year

How to become eligible

The final Clique Challenge of every year is the Clique Photographer of the Year Award. It is run for a couple of weeks in the month of December.

Clique members receive a total of 10 monthly Challenges from February to November. You must have entered a minimum of three Clique 2017 monthly Challenges to be in the running for the Photographer of the Year award.

Once the November Challenge has ended, members are invited to submit a portfolio of images that have previously been entered into the Clique monthly Challenges for 2017.

How is the winner selected?

The member with the strongest portfolio will win the Clique Photographer of the Year award. The Clique Photographer of the Year will be the photographer who has the strongest body of work, not to the member who has won the most Challenges.

In general, the judge(s) will be looking for creative images that display fine skill and technique. The winner will be chosen based on the originality, composition, and photographic technique.

The judge(s) are members of The Sydney Morning Herald or The Age photographic departments.

What can I win?

Prizes will be announced later in the year.

Student Clique Photographer of the Year

Student Clique runs 5 bi-monthly photo contests a year (February/March, April/May, June/July, August/September, October/November). Each contest has an open theme and students are asked to select the best photos from their body of work to show off their photographic skills.

The Student Clique Photographer of the Year will be held in December alongside the Clique Photographer of the Year.

If you enter a minimum of two bi-monthly contests, your entries will eligible for the Student Clique Photographer of the Year award. Students will also be asked to submit an extra photo to reach a minimum of 3 photos in their portfolio.
